Hi, I’m Lynn.
I train and place compassionate care professionals who are ready to make a real difference.

Lynn Johnson, founder of Jade at Helping Hands

The idea behind Jade at Helping Hands was born from a very personal and challenging journey. As a mother navigating the complexities of finding the right care for my children — one of whom struggled with asthma and the other born with a single kidney — I quickly realised how difficult it was to find trustworthy, skilled care professionals who truly understood and met my family’s needs.

At the peak of my career, I was faced with limited options and little support. I set out to create a service that not only recruits and trains care professionals, but also provides ongoing guidance and support to both families and care professionals.

Because in South Africa, the gap is clear: families often don’t receive enough help in navigating care options, and care workers, traditionally labeled as “maids,” lack professional recognition and support.

Jade at Helping Hands was established with a mission to change this narrative.

We focus on placing trained, compassionate care professionals, from nannies, au pairs and caregivers to childminders and companions, in homes that value and respect their vital role.

We empower these professionals with training and support, helping shift the perception from “maid” to trusted caregiver and valued member of the family.

Our goal is to build lasting partnerships between families and care professionals, ensuring quality care, respect, and clear communication every step of the way. Because when it comes to the people you trust in your home, the right hands truly make all the difference!
